Domestic Performances & Seminars
In Japan, in addition to our regular performances, we have held English rakugo shows and seminars at international organizations such as JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and UNESCO, as well as at private companies, schools, and hotels.
To date, our English rakugo seminars have served as training tools for employees at private companies and provided educational opportunities for students at various schools.
International Performances & Seminars
In the summer of 2015, we began touring overseas in cooperation with local volunteers of International embassies, Japan House, the Japan Foundation, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japanese-American associations, schools, theaters, etc. We have given performances for enthusiastic audiences in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Laos.
Our repertoire overseas has included such time-honored stories as “Jugemu,” “Time Noodles,” “Scary Hamburgers,” “Praising a Child,” “Chiritotechin,” “Matsuyama Mirror,” “The New Year Visit to the Shrine,” “The Zoo,” “Peach Boy,” “The God of Death,” and “Nopperabo-the Faceless.”
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all overseas performances scheduled after April 2020 had to be canceled. We would like to resume our international activities once the virus has subsided.
