Istanbul 2024

日トルコ外交関係樹立100周年記念イベントのひとつとして、イスタンブール総領事館からご招待頂き、市内で計４公演を行いました。英語落語の公演ではありましたが、日本に関心のある多数のお客さんから日本語で話しかけられたり「『寿限無』のフルネームを教えてください」とお願いいされたり、どの会場も大入りで、ほとんどの方にとっては初めての英語落語を楽しんでいただきました。

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Japan-Turkey diplomatic relations, Cyril, Peako and Koraku were invited to perform in Istanbul. They performed at two universities in Istanbul as well as the Official Residence of the Consul General of Japan. For many of the audience, it was their first rakugo experience. The performers were pleasantly surprised to discover that there were so many learners of Japanese among the audience.
