妻: 彼女はあなたのゴルフのパートナーになるの？
夫: おそらくね。
妻: 私のゴルフクラブを彼女にあげないでしょうね。
夫: あげないよ。
妻: なぜ？
夫: 左利きだから。

A conversation between a husband and his wife who love playing golf.

W: If I died, would you marry again?
H: I probably would.
W: Would she be your golfing partner?
H: She probably would.
W: Wouldn’t you give my golf clubs to her?
H: No, I wouldn’t.
W: Why not?
H: She is left-handed.

妻が死ななくても、ちゃっかり彼女がいるわけだ。

If I died, would you marry again? は、仮定法の表現。
現在のことを仮定したい場合は、if節の動詞を過去にして、
主節に仮定法助動詞（would, could, might, shouldのいずれか）を入れる。
