ある朝、男が道を歩いていると、友人に出会った。
男: おはよう。
君、片方の手に手袋をしていて、もう片方にはしていないじゃないか。
知ってた？
友人: わかっているよ。今朝、天気予報を聞いたんだ。
男: 天気予報？
友人: ああ。天気予報士によると、ところによっては（片方の手では）晴れだけれど、
ところによっては（もう片方の手では）雨だろうと。
Script
A man was walking down the road one morning and he met his friend.
M: Good morning.
Oh, you are wearing a glove on one hand, and none on the other hand.
Did you know?
F: Oh, yes, I heard the weather forecast this morning.
M: Weather forecast?
F: Yes, the weather forecaster said on the one hand it might be fine
but on the other hand, there might be some rain.

On the one handと、on the other handというフレーズが理解の決め手になる。
一方では、もう一方では、という場合に使う。
手袋をはめる、と言う場合は動詞はwear。
Wearは、他にも衣服、帽子、香水など、身につけるものには何でも用いることができる。
天気予報士は、weather forecaster, あるいは単にweatherman, weatherpersonでもよい。
