日本人は正月にお餅を食べます。
ある日、何人かの落語家が師匠の家に集まり、餅はなぜすぐにカビが生えるのかという話をしていました。
でもその理由は誰にもわかりません。
師匠はがっかりして言いました。
師匠: 餅になぜカビが生えるのか、誰も知らないのか。
弟子： ええ、教えてください。
師匠： バカな奴らだ。餅にカビが生えるのはなあ、搗いた後、すぐに食べないからだよ。
Script
The Japanese people eat rice cakes or mochi on New Year’s holidays.
One day, some Rakugo performers got together at their mentor’s house and they were talking about why rice cakes easily go moldy.
But nobody knew why.
Their mentor was disappointed with them.
M: Nobody knows why rice cakes go moldy?
S: No, please let us know why.
M: You are so foolish. They go moldy because you don’t eat them soon after they are made.
